Steelers vs Bengals: The Pittsburgh Steelers have clawed their way back to respectability with last week’s win over the Atlanta Falcons and this week are given a golden opportunity to make headway toward the top of the AFC North with a win over the Cincinnati Bengals. But things won’t be easy.
Defensive coordinator Keith Butler figured out this defense can be pretty darn dominant when they are more aggressive last week. Knocking Cincinnati quarterback Andy Dalton off his spot is the key to victory and the Steelers are going to do it with lots of blitzes.
It can’t all be good news. There is going to be so much emotion and so much physicality in this game, look for players to lose their cool and lack some discipline. Bank on most of these penalties coming on the defensive side of the football.
With all these weapons, the Steelers offense can practically pick and choose who they target in the red zone. And if you want to point to the biggest area of improvement this season with Randy Fichtner in charge it’s redzone efficiency. With that, expect Pittsburgh to find lots of ways to get scores.
Despite the fact the Steelers winning 14 of the last 17 and the last six in a row, the Steelers are looking up at the Bengals. But history matters and the Steelers know how to beat this team no matter how good the Bengals appear to be. The Steelers win a close win late 35-28.
